As the ANC led Emfuleni Local Municipality we wish to express our gratitude for you to travel from this far to come and learn good practices from us a Category B municipality and yet you are a Metro. This unto us signals motion of confidence and it really says we are souring with the eagles on the sky.
We intend building on this solid surface the inter-municipal relation and hoping to cement also political relations with you as Buffalo City Metro Municipality. We wish to accede to your most progressive local economic Development Strategy as we saw you’re Industrial Development Zones the last time we visited your municipality a month ago.
As we have said ealier in the presententation by the mayor that we are indeed lagging in as far as LED is concerned but you remain a motivation and an ally in ensuring that we move along the same lines of building a strong LED like you do in Buffalo. These relations should not only be boardroom orientated but be able to manifest themselves on the ground as we build better communities in our various areas of jurisdictions. Surely next time we have the engagement of the same nature we shall have been equals as we believe by then we would have been granted the status that accords us.
It is out of this exercise that we hope to see exchange programmes which will benefit our communities as we push back the frontiers of poverty and building a non racial, non-sexist and a prosperous South Africa. It is when we hold together under the stewardship of the president of the republic his Honorable Gedleyihlekisa Zuma that this vision shall be realised.
I wish not to say much except to encourage all of us to be behind the Bafana-Bafana team which will be playing Sierra Leon on tomorrow in Mpumalanga in order to qualify for the Africa Cup of nations on the same breath we rally behind our Bokkes as they play Australia on Sunday in quarter final match all this games are crucial as they will certainly put us on the map at the same time drive the nation building agenda forward.
It is our prayer that the God Abraham, Moses, Langalibalele Dube, Luthuli & Thambo be with you as you go back home, It goes without doubt that we shall meet again next in January at Bloemfontein as the ANC will be celebrating its 100 years of existence which makes it the oldest liberation movement in Africa which on daily basis keeps on growing in leaps and bounds.
Fellow Councilors, Administration, Comrades and Fellow Compatriots. Good Morning and Bon Voyaje
