SAMWU Strike
12 August 2011 - Members of the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) will embark on a national industrial action from Monday 15 August following a deadlock in negotiations with the South African Local Government Association (SALGA).
The Emfuleni Local Municipality would like to apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused by the strike action to its residents.
However, the Municipality will do all in its power to ensure that essential services, which include Traffic and Public safety, Fire and Emergency, Electricity, Water and Health, are not affected.
