Vaal River Carnival Events
This weekend marks the third week of the Vaal River Carnival events.
On Saturday, the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Sebokeng will be promoting the African culture from 09H00 by hosting the Indigenous Games. The games include Morabaraba, Blikkies, Juskei, Diketo, Kgathi, Dibeke, Hand co-ordination, Eye sight for target shooting, balancing and others.
Also on Saturday, the Emerald Casino and Resort will host the spectacular Wet and Wild event. There will be 20 DJs on 3 mega dance arenas to entertain the crowd.
Again on Saturday, the HTS Vereeniging (opposite Technorama) will be hosting the 2012 Tekkiefees on Saturday.
This is one event that was first started on a very small scale, has grown within seven years to a prominent event on the South African calendar. Last year, 25 000 people attended the event. This year’s activities include 4 x 4 Competition, Tekkie Club rugby under 8 – under 18, WWF Wrestling, New and Vintage Car Exhibitions and many others.
Members of the media are invited to attend and give coverage to the events. Please note for the Wet and Wild event, you need to be at the entrance before 15h00. Your names have been submitted for accreditation.
