Media invite: ELM Executive Mayor to visit Old age centres
24 October 2012 - The Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality Cllr Greta Hlongwane, accompanied by MMC for Health and Social Development Nkapu Ranake and senior officials will be visiting different old age homes to assess how they are been take care of and their living conditions.
The visits are part of the activities of the “Month of the Elderly” which is aimed at giving honor and recognition to the country’s senior citizens.
The main objective of these visits is to check whether our elderly and those in need of special attention receive adequate assistance from government and whether the conditions are suitable and safe.
The visits will take place as follows:

- Vuku Zenzele Old Age Centre, Zone 14 at 09H00
- Mimi Fourie Hoff in Vereeniging at 10H00
- Rustevaal Old Age Club at 12H00
Members of the media are invited to join the Executive and her team as they interact with our senior citizens and management of these centers.
