3 December 2013 - Emfuleni Local Municipality in association with Mugidi (PTY) Ltd, Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture & Recreation, Sedibeng District Municipality, SAB, ABI and Loxion News present first We Care Festival at Dick Fourie Stadium on the 14th of December 2013.

The event will start at 12h00 with top local artists sharing the stage and the day will proceed by explosion of performances by popular artists and djs including Mafikizolo, Zakes Bantwini, Dr Malinga, Big Nuz, Teargas, Thebe, Vetkuk vs Mahoota, Tira and Finzo.

Tickets available at Computicket and start from R200 up to R600.  Gates will open at 10h00 and the programme will end at 02h00 the following day.

We Care Festival marks the end of 16 days of activism against women and children abuse and celebrates the 14th anniversary of this campaign. The festival will serve as a reminder that the end of these 16 days is not the final destination in the efforts to fight violence and abuse against vulnerable groups; this is only the beginning of the reflective stages of our call to action for a non-violent society.

The main objective of the festival is to unite in one voice in changing the lives of those women that have survived rape, domestic violence and child abuse. Moreover, to help equip them for the future and motivating them to “RISE”, which is the theme for the day.
