Media Statement: Mofokeng joins millions of South Africans in wishing the class of 2017, all the best in the examinations!

24 October 2017 - 24 October 2017 - The Emfuleni Local Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Mahole Simon Mofokeng joins the Basic Education Department and all South Africans in wishing all candidates enrolled for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) the best of luck in the examinations which commenced on the 23 October 2017.

Matriculation examinations serve as a culmination of the last 12 years of schooling. Equally this is a time to put in the extra effort to ensure your success. We all send gratitude to those educators, implementers of the education system, who have done their utmost to ensure the curriculum was completed and learners complete the lessons.

We further appeal to parents, family members and caregivers to provide candidates with support and ensure that they have sufficient study time and a friendly environment for the examinations.

In challenging the class of 2017, I urge them to raise the bar and afford the Sedibeng District its rightful place on the National position, said Mofokeng.

I will in the beginning of the new year be honouring the top learners from the Sedibeng District, working closely with the department of Education to confer Learners with Awards in acknowledging their achievements.
