19 April 2010 - As part of the Emfuleni Local Municipality’s efforts to fast track service delivery and promote the Batho-pele principle, the Municipality’s Finance department will be embarking on an outreach program to help the consumers with their account queries. This initiative is part of the 90 days 90 Days Program of Action which is located squarely within our Turnaround Strategy from the Executive Mayor Cllr Assistance Mshudulu’s office.
As from this Saturday the 24th of April 2010, the offices of REVENUE AND DEBT MANAGEMENT will be opened twice a month on Saturdays from 08H00 till 13H00. This is to give ratepayers who do not have an opportunity to make payments during the week, a chance to do so without interfering with their jobs.
This program is aimed at familiarizing consumers with the Municipality accounts and make them understand the 50% discount, how it is calculated, how long does it take and why does it take that long to be credited on the system. As a caring Municipality that listens, we will also provide a suggestion box which will be monitored by a specific official who will ensure that the suggestions are escalated to the relevant Managers.
The Emfuleni Local Municipality believes that this program will go a long way in creating a better relationship between officials and the ratepayers.
