
He was received and welcomed by the Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality, Cllr Sipho Radebe, and Sedibeng District Municipality Cllr Lerato Maloka. The purification plant will enhance water security in Gauteng and throughout South Africa. The launch marks a crucial step in Rand Water’s ongoing efforts to strengthen water infrastructure across Gauteng.

This significant event marks a major development on the key priorities of the government to advance sustainable water security initiatives in the country, which the president announced during the State of the Nation Address. The President was accompanied by the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Pemmy Majodina, with Deputy Ministers David Mahlobo and Sello Seitlholo.

Among the dignitaries was the Mayor of the City of Johannesburg Mayor of the City of Johannesburg Cllr Dada Morero, Municipal Manager, April Ntuli, jointly with the Chief Director Metsi-a-Lekoa, Madoda Besani.
