Mayoral message to the Matric Class of 2012
It is that time of the year where the class of 2012 will prepare for the end of the year final matric examinations.
As government, we continue to positioning education as one of the leading priorities for the next five years.
I wish to remind the class of 2012 that the proper preparations for this particular period will usher in a new paradigm in their development.
We therefore urge all our communities to support our matriculants and provide them with all the necessary tools that would be valuable in their preparations.
We further invite all our communities to join hands in support of the class of 2012 and on behalf of Emfuleni Local Municipality and indeed, in the name of all the people of Emfuleni, I would like to unconditionally wish all the learners of the class of 2010 all the best as they face their final examinations.
We completely without reservation appreciate the sense of urgency and commitment which both learners and educators showed during the course of the 2012 academic year.
It is for this reason that we are convinced that you will do us proud fully aware that you are our greatest asset and investment as we move forward in the development and empowerment of our youth.
Matric examinations are a key defining moment in the life of a learner and this is precisely the reason we are encouraging our learners to exercise vigilance and guard against complacency.
It is our hope therefore that these examinations would be conducted under favourable conditions knowing full well that you enjoy the unconditional support not only of your municipality, but of your educators, parents and the community at large.
There is no worthier cause than the care of the future generations.
