Media Invite: Executive Mayor Jacob Khawe marks 120 days in Office

16 April 2018 - On Wednesday, 18th April 2018, the Executive Mayor of the Emfuleni Local Municipality, Cllr. Jacob Khawe will be reporting back to the people of Emfuleni Local Municipality, on 120 days in Office under the theme “Celebrating 100 Years of Nelson Mandela: Declaring Emfuleni a Clean City!”

The Executive Mayor was inaugurated on the 30th November 2017 by the Council. In his acceptance speech, he committed to work together with the people of Emfuleni and provide a report back on progress made on the 5 key priority areas.

These areas are as follows:

  • Institutional Stability
  • Public Participation
  • Clean City
  • Economic Development
  • Revenue Collection

Order of proceedings

  • Laying of wreaths at the late former Executive Mayor’s, Mr Sebei Motsoeneng and Mr Johnny Thabane- 07h30- 09h00 at Jakobskop and Vanderbijlpark cemetery
  • “Cleaning my City” Campaign in Boipatong 09h00- 13h00 next to Lebohang Secondary School
  • Launch of a health programme for the aged 11h00- 13h00 at the Rhoda Yende hall, Sharpeville
  • Meeting with the Ward committee members 14h00- 16h00 at the Nkadimeng Leutsoa community Library
  • Stakeholder engagement 16h30- 18h30 at the Sharpeville hall
