Emfuleni Local Municipality joined by Sedibeng District Municipality, SAPS and the Department of Home Affairs, honored the slain heroes and officers still on the job with Bravery Certificates. The event took place on Friday (26 May 2023) at the Vaal Technorama. M.L Ledimo, M.H Mbele, N.T Mokhele, S Tau, T Tshabalala, M.S Makasana, M.A Masibihlele were all recipients of Bravery Awards Certificates. These By-Law Officers also received Honorary Blazers and Medals for their outstanding work.

When the government proclaimed a State of the Nation Disaster in response to the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak, the men and women in blue were tasked with enforcing the country's disaster regulations. Emfuleni By-Laws officers worked with SAPS and the National Defence Force to clean up the streets, and in the process,  protecting the local population from the pandemic.
